How We Steward Our Funds

Faithful Stewardship. Transparent Accountability.

At the Detroit Catholic Central Alumni Assistance Foundation, we recognize that every dollar entrusted to us represents trust — and responsibility. We are committed to stewarding those funds with discipline, integrity, and transparency, guided by the values instilled in us at Catholic Central.

100% Volunteer-Led

DCCAAF operates without paid staff or salaries. We are entirely volunteer-led, ensuring that the majority of funds raised are directed toward direct assistance and mission-driven programs.

Responsible Oversight

Financial stewardship is not casual — it is structured. Our Board reviews every disbursement, dual signatures are required above established thresholds, and our Treasurer provides regular financial reporting so that every dollar is tracked and documented.

Purpose-Driven Allocation

Funds are primarily used to provide emergency financial assistance to alumni and families in crisis, merit-based tuition support through the Shamrock Scholarship Fund, and mission-aligned reinvestment through The Shamrock Return Program.

Guided by Faith and Ethics

Our financial practices reflect Catholic social teaching — compassion, justice, humility, and protection of the vulnerable. We follow clear policies on conflicts of interest, whistleblower protections, inclusive and non-discriminatory standards, and formal financial accountability procedures.

Built on Trust

This foundation was created so that no Shamrock faces hardship alone. We honor the trust of our donors by ensuring that funds are handled with care, reviewed with integrity, and distributed with compassion — Shamrocks serving Shamrocks.
